Friday 17th July 2026 7pm: Everybody to Kenmure Street (12A). Tickets £5 Adults £2.50 Children under 15
Hi film lovers.

Everybody to Kenmure Street is a compelling and uplifting documentary that chronicles one of the most remarkable acts of community solidarity in recent British history. Directed by Felipe Bustos Sierra, the film revisits the events of May 2021, when residents of Glasgow’s Pollokshields neighbourhood came together to oppose the detention of two men during a Home Office immigration raid.
What began as a routine enforcement operation quickly became something far more significant. As news spread through the community, hundreds of local people left their homes, workplaces and daily routines to gather on Kenmure Street. In an extraordinary display of peaceful resistance, neighbours, activists and passers-by united to prevent the removal of the two men, creating a stand-off that lasted for hours and ultimately drew national and international attention.
Drawing on crowd-sourced footage, archive material, interviews and carefully crafted reconstructions, the film captures the tension, determination and humanity of that day while placing the events within Glasgow’s longer tradition of protest and social activism. Rather than focusing solely on politics, it tells a story about people: about what happens when individuals choose to act together in defence of their neighbours.
Winner of the Sundance Special Jury Award for Civil Resistance, Everybody to Kenmure Street is both an engrossing piece of documentary filmmaking and a moving celebration of community spirit. Timely, thought-provoking and ultimately hopeful, it reminds us of the power of ordinary people to make an extraordinary difference.
As usual, bar, ice creams, teas and coffees at the start and at the interval.
See you there.
