We are ONE!

Time to celebrate!

In just 12 months ..

On 1 March 2023 we launched the Welland Community Cinema Club with Matilda The Musical and have to date shown 20 films, 3 National Theatre Live Plays, and two live screenings (King’s Coronation and Men’s Single Final)

The best attended film was Barbie with over 80 in the audience!

1 March VANYA National Theatre Live FREE HOT DRINK FOR EVERYONE!

(Tea, Coffee, Mulled Wine)

Plus quiz!

Diverse genres

We’ve tried to be as diverse in genres as we can from blockbusters such as Mission Impossible to films from Bhutan such as Lunana ; A Yak in the classroom.

From a documentary about David Bowie to Muppets Xmas Carol.

Overcoming barriers

We struggled when the summer came with the light through the big window but thanks to grants from Worcestershire County Council, MHDC, and our local parish council, we had a big black curtain made which does the trick. PLUS…it keeps us warmer in the winter!

National Theatre Live

Our National Theatre began after the second world on the south bank in London. Previous directors have been giants such as Lawrence Olivier, Peter Hall, Richard Eyre, and Trevor Nunn. Nicholas Hytner took over in 2003 and commissioned the likes of; War Horse, The History Boys, One Man, Two Guvnors and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. These plays have not only been real theatrical innovators but incredible money spinners with the franchise of War Horse alone bringing in £millions with tours around the world and still going strong.

Now, this theatre can be reached in Welland! We are proud to show you the best of British Theatre which you can access on the big screen for a tenner! If you are not convinced come along and give it a try. You will be amazed!

Don’t Miss out …be on our list of members

So many folks have told us that they “didn’t know we were showing that”. Let’s have your contact details and never miss out. It’s a cheap night out right in the heart of the community. No need to get the car out or go into Malvern.

Tell us what you want….

We have such a wide choice of films it is difficult to decide sometimes. Tell us what you want to watch, and we can do our best.

Become a crew member.

We need 4/5 crew to show a film. One on the door; a few to shift the chairs and tables; one on the teas and coffees, one on the bar and an ice cream seller. Then, there’s the lowering of the screen and the assembly of our speakers! If you can help that would give the regular crew a break that would be great. Get in touch with Viv Nelson, (viv@nelsontraining.co.uk) or just have a word with us at one of our showings.

    Morning,
I live in Malvern Wells and keep missing your shows. Do you have to book a ticket , or can you just come down on the evening of a showing and pay on the door .
